Lincoln – Car key company confident for future of Lincoln’s Economy

Local specialist company ‘The Car Key Man’ is confident for the future, following its renewal of the lease on its unique workshop-based service. Located in the centre of Lincoln, the success of the shop has given confidence to its owner that this year will see continued growth for the company. With the lease renewed for three years, additional staff will also be needed.

When opened in 2013, this unusual service was largely unknown. ‘Although we’d already been cutting car keys for nine years, we found more of our customers wanted to drop in and tell us their concerns about their faulty keys.

When we opened the shop we were unsure if it was needed and was a real gamble’ explained business owner Steve Bulleyment. He needn’t have worried. Since opening, word has spread that expert advice is available for free, enabling the business is to go from strength to strength.

‘Because we understand the problem, we can offer a cost effective answer along with prompt service’, says Steve. The shop has driven the business forward. With so many problems emerging with car keys, he will soon need to recruit to meet growing demand. ‘There is a real buzz within the Lincoln business network’ Steve told us, ‘it’s a great place to live and have a business.’

Hodgson Elkington LLP, who manage the unit agreed with the outlook. ‘Small businesses such as the Car Key Man are ideally placed to take advantage of the opportunities that Lincoln offers.’ Explained Associate Hayley Playle, ‘We are delighted to complete a renew the lease for this Steve and his team.’
